Willard Water District Improvement Project Update – October 9, 2023
Significant progress was made over the previous week.
Work was begun on Prospect Street and approximately 250 linear feet of main was installed and all of the services crossing the street have been identified.
Pavement restoration has begun on Main Street. This will return the pavement to approximately the same condition it was in when construction started. This will allow the Seneca County Highway Department to properly clear the road this winter. A permanent binder coat will be applied to the road in 2024 and the road will be completely paved in 2025 after the binder has had a chance to settle.
This week installation will continue on Prospect Street with the goal being to complete installation, test the new main, and start services. We will also continue pavement restoration on Main Street. Obviously, weather and other circumstances can play a role in this, but we hope to maintain the rapid pace that we have enjoyed so far for this project.
As was mentioned last week, please be aware that due to the presence of residences on both sides of the street, more excavation will be required than was done on Main Street. This will impede traffic flow in the area. The construction crew will do their best to minimize the impact, but please be patient if you need to travel in the area.
