Willard Water District Improvement Project Update – June 22, 2024

This past week, the services on the ductile iron section of water main along County Road 132A were switched over. In addition, the boring for the HDPE section of water main was completed and the piping was installed. With the completion of this task, all of the new water mains have been installed! The hydrants attached to the new HDPE section have also been installed.

Next week, the plan is to pressure test and bacteriologically test the HDPE section, and following successful completion of the testing, services along the HDPE section will begin being switched over to the new main.

During the first week in July, any remaining services will be switched and restoration work throughout the project area will commence. Completion of the restoration work will be the final step of the project.

The county will begin their paving activities later this year with the installation of a binder coat in all areas to be repaved. This will be allowed to settle over the winter and a final topcoat will be applied next year.
