Help Wanted!

There are currently two vacancies for Town officials.

The Planning Board has one seat open as board member Mary Joslyn has reached the end of her term and has left the board to pursue other interests. This is an appointed position with a term of seven years.

The Town Board also has one seat open as Councilman Kyle Collinsworth has left the board to take his new position as Town Justice for the Town of Romulus. This position will be filled by appointment to complete the remainder of the year (until December 31, 2020). This is normally an elected position with a term of four years and if you would like to continue in the position at the end of the appointment you would need to run for the office in the 2020 election.

You must be a resident of the Town of Romulus to serve in either of these positions. Anyone wishing to apply for either of these positions should submit a letter of interest to the Romulus Town Clerk at your earliest convenience.

Changes

There are several changes as the result of the recent election and other events (and more to come).

  • David Hayes has been elected Town Supervisor replacing David Kaiser.
  • Planning Board member Mary Joslyn has decided to leave the Planning Board at the end of her term.
  • Newly elected Councilman Stacey Bennett will be filling the seat on the Town Board vacated by David Hayes.
  • Councilman Kyle Collinsworth is leaving his position on the Town Board to take up his duties as the newly elected Town Justice for the Town of Romulus.
  • Angela Testa will be joining us as a bookkeeper. This will allow us to better serve the residents and maintain proper segregation of duties to ensure compliance with audit requirements.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Dave Kaiser, Mary Joslyn, and Kyle Collinsworth for their valuable service to the Town. We wish them well in their future endeavors.

Town of Romulus Introduces Updated Web Site

An “new and improved” web site is being released for the Town of Romulus. It will replace the current web site that hasn’t seen any significant changes in over 10 years. It is being developed by FingerLakes1 personnel in conjunction with Town representatives and represents a major improvement in capabilities for both the user community and Town personnel tasked with maintaining the content.

Among the new features are a streamlined interface, more logical organization allowing users to find pertinent information more easily, photo galleries with pictures of the Romulus area, and expanded people and historical sections.

The new website will go live on Tuesday, July 30 and the community is invited to tour the site and submit any comments or suggestions they may have.
