The BOIL WATER ORDER for the Hamlet of Willard has been lifted. Testing has confirmed that the water supply is free of bacteria. A copy of the notice from the Seneca County Health Department is included below.

The water was restored at approximately 6:30PM last evening, however, the BOIL WATER ORDER for the Hamlet of Willard remains in effect at this time. Additional testing is continuing and must be completed before the order can be lifted. It is possible the order will not be lifted until Monday.
Melissa Taylor, the Emergency Management Director for Seneca County has arranged for 16 pallets of bottled water to be delivered to the Ovid Fire Department. Residents of the hamlet may pick up free bottled water from there today between the hours of 8:30AM-12:00PM and 3:00PM-7:00PM.

Residents in the Hamlet of Willard are directed to BOIL TAP WATER that is to be used for consumption (drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, etc.) until further notice. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the water should be brought to a full rolling boil for at least one minute before use.

The Drug Treatment Center in Willard has notified the Town of a major water main break. Residents in the Hamlet of Willard may experience “low water pressure” or “loss of water”. That is all the information that is available at this time. We will update this notice as more details become available.
